The University of Alicante - Universidad de Alicante (UA) is a dynamic public university funded in 1979. It hosts more than 20,000 students, of which about 7.5% come from foreign countries.

It offers more than 50 undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. It has more than 70 university departments and research units in areas of technical and experimental sciences, health sciences, social and legal sciences, humanities, and education sciences, as well as 18 specialised research institutes.

UA is considered to be a reference for many companies as a provider of technical assistance and of applied research. OTRI - Servicio de Transferencia de Resultados de Investigación is the UA’s ILO - Industrial Liaison Office and hence the UA’s administrative unit hosting the EEN.

Under an open innovation approach and as a science/technology-oriented partner, UA will focus on facilitating the transfer of technology and the carrying out of R&D and innovation projects for businesses.

The support offered by UA will rely on the specialisation and expertise of the UA’s staff in technology audits, innovation management, IPR, access to finance of R&D/innovation projects, and the promotion/marketing of the technology and technical knowledge.

UA closely cooperates with the regional stakeholders involved in the transfer of scientific knowledge and technology: ILOs of other public universities, scientific parks, health research and innovation ecosystem, digitalisation hubs, etc.
