    Mission for Growth to Taiwan SMEs and representatives of business associations are invited to apply to participate in the mission to Taipei, 3-5 June 2015. Purpose of the mission DG GROWTH's Director-General, Daniel Calleja, will lead a Mission for Growth to Taipei, Taiwan from 3-5 June 2015. Mr Calleja will be accompanied by a delegation of representatives of business associations and entrepreneurs to discuss with Taiwanese entrepreneurs how to foster industrial cooperation and identify business opportunities.

    Why should SMEs expand their business beyond the EU? An estimated 90% of global growth will originate outside the EU by 2015. Developing and emerging markets are expected to account for 60% of world GDP by 2030. But: Only some 3 percent of the Enterprise Europe Network's Partnership Agreements presently involve businesses outside the EU or countries covered by the EU's Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (CIP). There is a huge potential for EU-based SMEs out there!

    The European Commission has honoured companies from the UK, Czech Republic, Hungary, Spain, Germany and Greece during the Enterprise Europe Network Awards, held for the first time as a stand-alone event in Brussels on 23 September 2014. The awards recognise successful Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) who are seizing the opportunities offered by Europe's single market by using the services and support of the Enterprise Europe Network.

    The new Green Action Plan adopted by the European Commission sets out a series of objectives and actions that will be implemented at European level within the framework of the Multiannual Financial Framework 2014-2020. The plan proposes to exploit green opportunities by improving productivity and reducing costs in SMEs through resource efficiency, supporting green entrepreneurship, and developing Europe's leadership in green processes and technologies.
