Swedish SME expands into Bulgaria with expert guidance from the Enterprise Europe Network.

Swedish small business HP Tronic makes industrial control and test systems across a wide range of sectors—from food and beverage processing to healthcare and paper packaging.
Keen to set up a subsidiary in Bulgaria, the firm got in touch with their local Enterprise Europe Network branch for expert advice on international expansion.
In Sweden, Network adviser Pontus Sanneus worked closely with the company to fully understand their needs and requirements. He was then able to reach out to his colleague Ekaterina Yordanova in Ruse, Bulgaria who swiftly took up the reins in organising a fully personalised mission.
Customised service
Ekaterina used her local knowledge, contacts and expertise to organise a tailor-made company mission for HP Tronic to Bulgaria. This included meetings with representatives of local companies, local authorities as well as Ruse University, which is highly specialised in HP Tronic’s area of business.
“Company missions are a standard service provided by the Network but in this case we just had one company and the challenge was to fully customise the service to its specific needs” Ekaterina explains.
This meant arranging and accompanying HP Tronic throughout their meetings, but also ensuring that the company was well prepared in advance with the most relevant information on investment opportunities and statistical data.
Reaping rewards
The hard work paid off and after a series of fruitful meetings, HP Tronic decided to start production in Bulgaria where the company now has a new subsidiary.
