Enterprise Europe Network Midlands is taking a UK delegation on a company mission to Germany 15-18 September. Germany is the UK’s number one EU export market and a convenient base for trading with nearby countries in the eurozone.Düsseldorf is a cosmopolitan city with major strengths in the fields of technology and innovation, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, and medicine and healthcare. From mobile communications to life sciences and new media, Düsseldorf is both a trendsetter and indicator of new trends.Osnabrück is the third largest city in Lower Saxony with a focus on medicine, healthcare, transport and logistics, technology and innovation.The healthcare industry is the most important employer in the region, but suppliers to the automobile industry are also a key sector.The food industry and agricultural technology provide additional and significant opportunities.Magdeburg is the site of two universities, the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg and the Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences.Magdeburg is a traffic junction as well as an industrial trading centre.
