This UK company designs and manufactures electronic instrumentation and monitoring systems for remote sites including a 2MP GPRS (General Packet Radio System) ultra-low power camera system. Distributors are now sought with experience of selling into the water industry, specifically in areas of environmental monitoring and flood detection/prevention for distribution agreements. Agreements with manufacturers who wish to integrate the camera module into their own products will also be considered.
The company designs, builds and installs environmental monitoring, control and telemetry systems and has an innovative GPRS low power consumption 2MP camera system (drawing less than 200mW) that can be powered by battery or solar panel to suit remote surveillance applications.
With particular expertise in projects relating to flood prevention and detection, water quality monitoring and even wildlife observations, the company offers a complete package of hardware and software that can be customised to specific customer needs.
The colour camera can be integrated into most existing SCADA web applications or end user software or purchased as a complete web based management/monitoring system. There are two camera configurations, both IP66 sealed for outdoor use and one supplied in a pillar configuration, made from marine grade stainless steel to protect from harsh environments. The camera can also be supplied without a housing for integration into third party housings. All camera configurations are suitable for day and night time monitoring.
Cost effective, simple to deploy in a matter of minutes and easy the use, the camera and monitoring system is already proven with domestic sales to water companies and regulators as well as exports to the Netherlands, Israel, Iceland, the Caribbean, Kazakhstan and elsewhere.
The company is looking for partners with experience in the water industry, specifically flood detection/prevention. They will also consider manufacturers who wish to integrate the camera module into their own products.
The camera is ideal for remote environments such as difficult to access flood plains, culverts and trash gates where access to power and communications can be problematic. Requiring only a 12V DC supply and GPRS signal (with developments underway for 3G) to operate, the camera is IP66 sealed and has an industry standard lens housing enabling any lens from ultra-wide angle to long focus to be fitted according to customer requirements. Filtered colour lenses can also be used for day/night use and the digital zoom function operates with no loss of resolution.
The camera can also be setup to acquire pictures on a timed interval basis or can be activated by:
• Web browser request via the monitoring suite
• Local input i.e. from a Passive InfraRed sensor (PIR)
• SMS (Short Message Service)
• Telephone call
The resulting pictures can be sent to multiple platforms including:
• Web browser
• Existing SCADA (Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition web applications)
• FTP (File Transfer Protocol) direct to custom website
• Direct to mobile via MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service)
For local configuration the camera is Bluetooth enabled and supplied with a software configuration tool for ease of setup. Commands can also be sent via email or SMS.
It is also fitted with an output which can be used to trigger a separate IR (Infra-Red) illuminator or other equipment on site.

Product fully developed and in use in the UK, the Netherlands, Israel, Iceland, the Caribbean, Kazakhstan and elsewhere. Future developments are in progress to further improve functionality and capability of camera.
Potential distributors should be established businesses with proven experience of distribution, sales and installation of monitoring software and hardware in their respective country or region. They should already be operating in the water industry in areas such as flood prevention/detection or water quality monitoring. The company is also interested in speaking with manufacturers who might wish to integrate the heart of this camera into their own products. The UK company is particularly interested in finding partners in Ireland
