A French company specialises in the supply, manufacture and marketing of quality maintenance products, biological products and industrial paints for a large number of professionals such as industries, local authorities, breeders, oyster farmers, building sector. In order to innovate in their range, the SME is looking for phase change material (PCM) in powder form in microcapsules. A commercial agreement with technical assistance is sought with a partner specialised in microencapsulation.
A French company is traditionally manufacturing industrial paints and maintenance products (cleaning, de-icing, lubricating, disinfectant, antifungal, ....).
In recent years, SME was committed to an environmental approach and introduced on the market a specific range of green cleaning/degreasing products with an active principle coming from vegetal extracts.
The SME is now willing to improve the performance of their products by adding to them new functionalities. It is actively looking for organic phase change materials (PCMs) and more specifically those with a high latent heat in a restricted temperature range (see diagram below).
The technology sought should have the following characteristics:
- 100% solid (powder)
- Granulometry: diameter <20 μm
- Latent heat> 180 J / g
- Melting temperature range: From -5°C up to 80°C
- Phase change interval: Not more than 6 ° C
- Stable over time (not fragile)
The French SME is willing to engage a commercial agreement with technical assistance with a partner specialised in microencapsulation of organic PCMs.
The organic phase change material must not be derived from paraffin oil, since it is not compatible with the formulation of the French product.
The phase change interval must not exceed 6°C at the maximum.
Avoid or, as far as possible, reduce the use of formaldehyde in the microencapsulation process.
The microcapsules in powder should be added into liquid products.
The partner must be a specialist in microencapsulation and should be able to supply the French company with organic microPCM in powder form. The French comapny is looking for technical support to formulate and add the microPCMs into their finished products.
