A UK company has developed a range of performance and recovery enhancing sportswear and is looking for a sportswear manufacturer with experience in high quality stretch fabrics in order to cope with orders in larger quantities.
The South-East England spin out from University of Reading is commercialising infrared technology woven into sports clothes, resulting in thermo-active textile and enhancing performance and improving recovery.
Their current manufacturer is in Malaysia and in order to bring it closer to home they are now looking for a manufacturer, with experience in high tech/quality stretch sports clothes in Europe to manufacture cycling shorts and trousers and triathlon suits.
The company will provide the manufacturer with the fabric and as long as the partner has the required machines they don't necessarily have to have experience in performance enhancing clothing, but need to have experience with sportswear.
Manufacturer must meet all the following criteria:
- expertise in working with high quality stretch sports wear
- flatlock stitches and machines (6 needle) - if the manufacturer doesn't have the necessary machines they can be prepared to fit them, but the UK company won't offer training on how to use the machines, this needs to be undertaken by the manufacturer.
- minimum volumes of 5000 units/month, preferably 10 000 units
The above requirements are a must for all manufacturers, they are not interested in offers from companies not currently manufacturing stretch sports clothes.
