A German SME active in the field of biogas plants offers its engineering knowhow for sustainable production of electricity and its access to process technology and equipment.Core competences among others are the processing and treatment of industrial and municipal sludge, organic waste, and agricultural residues. A new focus is given to chicken dung handling. The company offers licence agreements and is looking for partners that are interested in a commercial agreement with technical assistance.
The company from Germany has more than 20 years of experience in the biogas business. The SME realized engineering solution projects in Europe, Asia and America with a volume range from 15 kWel. to 3,200 kWel. Due to the experience of the SME and the demand of clients, technological solutions for the market of chicken dung handling were developed.
In general, the success of the company is the result of an holistic approach for sustainability and a project life cycle including:
1) Feasibility studies;
2) Approval planning in Germany in close communication with the partners of the home market (advice in details and co-production of documents for officials);
3) Detailed design with implementation of planning permission;
4) Construction management for the correct execution of the construction works, the observation of the scheduling, and start-up of the installation.
The technological and equipment approach implies biogas plants with robust, innovative and economical technology. The actual portfolio includes delivery, assembly, start-up and a maintenance contract, if required:
• Pumping equipment and piping
• Gas storage
• Gas flares
• Solids feeding station with grinder
• Waste treatment
The product range focuses on biogas plants for slurry, dung or energy crops as well as municipal solid waste sorting stations including the digestion of the organic fraction. Relevant partners should also be aware of environmental issues that are related to chicken dung handling.
The licence agreements is relevant for the SME from Germany, because local market knowledge helps to find suitable clients more easily. Regarding the commercial agreement with technical assistance, potential partners have the chance to integrate state of the art innovation research into their own product portfolio.
Within the new partnership framework, partners will be also invited to implement their experience and knowhow into the development process. The German company thinks that such a cooperation could help to boost the technological invention in the field of chicken dung handling within international markets a little bit faster.
Feasibility studies for risk management at the beginning of projects with checks regarding the technical and economic feasibility, resources of material, time and people, temporal and legal implementation, and financing.
Focus on chicken dung handling with a new innovative methodology:
1) There are several possibilities by digestion:
• Waste disposal;
• Enormous reduction green house gases (-200 to 580g CO2 /kWh);
• Organic, biological fertilizer production;
• Production of electricity, heat and steam;
• No environmental and groundwater contamination;
• Optimal fermentation by new generation of bacteria for high N concentrations: TKN: min 15kg/m³, NH4: min 12kg/m³;
• Lower energy requirement with the same gas yield;
• Nitrogen removal by simple sewage plant technology;
• Same energy yield;
One advantage of the system is that the biogas plants are already at the market. The process for chicken dung was tested in the laboratory and the approach is validated. Further, it will be tested at biogas plants in Germany soon in combination with nutrient removal like nitrogen removal, phosphorus removal and potassium removal.
The company has more than 20 years of experience and has built more than 100 biogas plants. The special biogas process with chicken manure has been tested for 5 years in the laboratory in cooperation with a famous federal research organisation in Germany. The first implementation at existing biogas plants will start soon.
Activity: Construction sector in the field of earthworks, concrete works, steel works, piping, cabling.
Role: Providing info-and- contact desk services for relevant clients. Managing parts of the communication between new clients and German company. Realizing the involvement of one or more mentioned working packages of the item "activity".
Commercial agreement with technical assistance:
Activity: Businesses with a focus on agitators and pumps, valves, sensors, gas holder, or automatization.
Role: Implementing the product portfolio of the German partner and providing marketing services for an upgrading turnover.
R&D projects led to the expertise for certain feed stock containing much nitrogen like chicken dung and slaughter house waste. The world faces an increasing demand for chicken eggs and chicken meat all over the world, because it is cheaper than other meat and regardless of religion. This tendency implies a lot of problems, such as: waste, nitrate, and CO2 (innovative solution offered see in the field advantages and Innovations).
