A Dutch water technology SME has developed a sustainable and ecological system which allows the purification of polluted waste water without the use of chemicals. This system is suitable for eliminating organic waste from waste water streams, mainly domestic waste water. The client is looking for a partner with experience with water technology products/systems. Potential partnership agreements are commercial agency agreement; franchise agreement; joint venture and license agreement.
A Dutch SME active in the sustainable water treatment has developed a sustainable and ecological system which allows the purification of extremely, medium and ligthly polluted waste water without the use of chemicals. This constructed wetland filter system is suitable for eliminating organic waste from different types of waste water streams.
The system is part of a broader sustainable water treatment product portfolio, which includes septic tanks and cisterns for water purification; membrane filtration and aeration installations for additional purification and systems for the reuse of rainwater.
With its products the client is aiming to increase the amout of water reused and to deliver safe drinking water to every corner in the world and decrease the amount of (industrial) waste water being discharged without treatment.
The client is market leader in Europe and has branches in seven countries including Canada and Brasil. Moreover, when constructing the wetland filters or any other product, the client always works together with local people. In 2014 the client constructed its 2000th constructed wetland filter system.
In the constructed wetland filter system, waste water is slowly percolating through several layers of sand, gravel and sea shells. On top of this filter, reed plants are growing, the root zone of these plants are instrumental in the purification process.
The system is particularly suitable for rural areas as well as areas without sewerage system and can be applied for up to 5000 people. Therefore, the system can be applied to (remote) villages, tourist accommodation and the outer suburbs of cities.
The client is looking for partners with a broad network of companies, organizations and governmental bodies. The client is looking for joint ventures, franchise agreements and license agreements with companies which have experience in the waste water treatment facilities. At first construction will be done in cooperation with the partner, eventually the client envisions itself in an advisory position in which the partner is responsible for generating leads, construction and maintenance service, thus serving its own region.
Interested consultancy agencies who are willing to operate on a commercial agency agreement basis are also invited to send in EoI´s.
The constructed wetland filter system is an ecological water treatment system which does not use any chemicals. Therefore, the costs of this system are much lower than regular systems using chemicals or membranes. Additionally the constructed wetland filter systems are much beter for the environment and the health of humans and animals. Additionally maintenance costs are very low, especially compared to mainstream systems.
The system keeps working in case waste water quantities rise or fall without the need of interference.
Energy use of the system is less than 4kWh per person per year.
Does not attract any pests and does not create any stench/odour.
The system can be applied for 2 persons up to 5000 persons.
The client is in particular looking for two types of partners. Partners with experience in constructing waste water systems and on the other hand consultancy agencies.
Parties with experience in constructing waste water systems
The partner should be interested in adding a decentralized system for the purification of waste water to their product portfolio. At first the partner is expected to generate new leads and orders. Orders will be first carried out by client and partner. On the long run, partners are expected to construct systems themselves. The client will then only act as point of advise. For these types of partners the client is envisaging joint ventures, franchise agreements and license agreements. Specifics to each requirement are given below:
Commercial agency agreement and franchise agency agreement
For these types of agreement the client is looking for a long term relationship with a company who shares their ideas and corporate values. The client will teach, train and help the potential partner to start their own business in their country, but first the client wants to run some projects together to get to know each other.
Joint venture agreement
For this agreement the client and partner will synergistically work together on fixed projects. Client and partner share select investments per project.
With a licence agreement the partner is allowed to use the clients knowledge and name for selling the clients products in the partner’s region. The client will train and help the partner where needed. In this type of agreement the client will have a limited budget in terms of investments in the partner´s company.
The partner should have a broad network of companies, organizations and municipalities and has to be able to identify opportunities to apply the purification systems. The partner will actively acquire leads for the client. If a purification system is implemented the partner will be first contact point for the organization at which the system is implemented. Potential type of agreement is commercial agency agreement.
The Constructed Wetland Filter system was certified with the highest certification possible within the IBA (Individual Treatment of Waste water) system class 3B by the Dutch independent certification organization KIWA (Dutch Scientific Institute for Water and Waste Water Treatment).
