The German company has developed a device which by means of six single cutting blades, each equipped with a spring, can enable cross-cutting on flat test objects, convex, concave and free-form surfaces, for example mirror housings of vehicles, rims, pipes/tubes, etc.
It's a hand set with one, two or three millimetres distance between the cutting blades.
Cross-cutting is a testing method for paints and varnishes which tests the adhesive strength of the coating on the base surface. By applying this method the coating is first cut through longitudinally by means of a cross-cutting device with six cutting blades. Then the cut is made in cross direction. In this way 25 squares are created, each having a distance of one, two or three millimetres (depending on the thickness of the layers, DIN EN ISO 2409) from the other.
A flexible head additionally guarantees an optimal adaption to the surface of the respective test object, and low-wear cutting blades made of hard metal guarantee a long-lasting use.
