French SME active in design and production of waste water treatment equipment and processes has developed an optimized system for drying, with solar energy, urban or industrial sludge after dewatering. The system is designed to run efficiently all the year, be odor free, and simple to operate and maintain. The company is looking for agents or distributors (commercial agency and distribution service agreements) in Europe. Customers will be waste water contractors or local communities.
This process is meant to give a long lasting solution to the increasing difficulty of the water authorities to find an economical and environmentally friendly solution to the disposal of sludge at a reasonable and acceptable cost to the communities.
Generally speaking, the solar dryer will be installed together with the waste water treatment plant, as the treated waste water will be an energy source for the heating of the dryer during the cold seasons, by means of a heat pump.
Therefore, the solar dryer can be installed while the WWTW (waste water treatment work) is being erected, or can be installed years after when the need arises.
The company is looking for distributors or agents (agency service agreement with possible technical assistance) in Europe.
Customers will be waste water contractors from small to large size, or can be local communities which WWTW plant already exists.
The company offers an efficient mean of drying sludge with minimum energy, combining solar energy and heat pumps for the cold and cloudy days when required.
It is designed for low running costs, as it is fully automated, from the mechanical dewatering of thickened sludge to the storage of dried sludge above 85%, without any need for workforce on site apart from regular checkup. It is therefore a continuous process.
The unit itself is almost odor free, as it has been designed to have a regular and thorough mixing of the sludge, thus keeping them in a continuous oxygenated state, and preventing any kind of anaerobic fermentation.
It has been designed to allow for simple maintenance, with all necessary surfaces with simple access for that purpose, including easy circulation aside the drying zone.
Heating efficiency is highly increased by maximum use of generated heat, including zoning the drying surface.
