KIAT was established in May 2009 as a quasi-government agency, and is now under the supervision of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE). KIAT is entrusted with the implementation of the state R&D budget for industrial technology. Our major activities include medium and long-term planning for industrial technology development, fostering international R&D cooperation, enhancing technology transfer and its commercialization, facilitating. It employs 270 staff members. It is home to the Korea EUREKA National Project Coordinator Office since 2009 and as such has organized the annual KOREA EUREKADAY event both in Korea and Europe.
