On November 18th, ValBiom and Wallonie Design, with the support of Enterprise Europe Network, are organizing « Les 18èmes Rencontres de la Biomasse » on the topic "Textile fibers of agricultural origin - towards a relocation of the sector for a local and sustainable textile industry".
On the one hand, clothing brands are increasingly seeking, each in their own way, to integrate social and environmental criteria into their production strategy while remaining accessible to their customers. On the other hand, citizens have a strong demand for local and sustainable textiles. Producing quality textile fibers locally is an essential mission for the environment and the economy of tomorrow.
In the soil and climate context of Wallonia , two agro-resources have a level of maturity that allows for industrial development: flax and hemp. The event will focus on these two crops, their potential and their outlets.
Projects at the research or commercialization stage, experience sharing, success stories and exchanges with professionals of the sector are at the heart of these 18th Biomass Conference & Meetings, organized by ValBiom and Wallonie Design with the support of the Enterprise Europe Network.
The program includes conferences, B2B meetings, exhibition of designers and stylists and visit of the TexLab in Liège.
Profiles of the participants : designers; stylists; fashion and design schools; farmers and potential project leaders; companies of the sector : production and transformation chain; textile stores and textile companies, public authorities.
B2B meetings : all actors in the value chain of textile fibers of agricultural origin (focus on flax and hemp) will be present at the event to establish synergies and join forces to (re)develop the textile industry in the Belgian and French fiber production basins.
From production (farmer) to finished product (biobased product stores, design, fashion, furniture) through processing (scutching units, spinning, finishing ...).
The registration fee for the event is 50€ for ValBiom members, 100€ for other participants.
