- Full Description
-
Cooperativa Agropecuaria y Comercializadora de Servicios (COASECAFÉS) is a Colombian coffee cooperative located in Garzón, department of Huila. The organization has more than 35 years of experience across the coffee value chain, covering cultivation, post-harvest processing, transformation, and commercialization. The cooperative has been legally constituted since 2014 and operates with a focus on specialty, regional, and commercial coffee segments.
COASECAFÉS manages certified productive areas and operates under a Rainforest Alliance-certified supply chain, supporting traceability, responsible environmental practices, and compliance with international sourcing standards. The cooperative works with trained personnel, including staff certified under Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) standards, ensuring technical rigor in quality control and post-harvest management.
The cooperative produces coffees using different processing methods, with particular emphasis on naturally processed coffee (cherry-dried). Production practices prioritize environmental protection, including responsible water use, prevention of contamination of water basins, and soil conservation. These practices support the production of specialty coffees while aligning with sustainability and environmental stewardship requirements.
COASECAFÉS has supplied coffee to American and European markets, demonstrating export readiness and the ability to meet international quality and documentation requirements. Current production capacity exceeds existing commercial channels, and the cooperative is actively seeking new markets to absorb increased volumes while maintaining quality and traceability.
The cooperative seeks commercial cooperation with international partners interested in distributing Colombian coffee of origin, particularly specialty and naturally processed coffees. The objective is to establish stable, long-term relationships that enable market expansion, fair commercialization, and continued investment in sustainable production practices. - Advantages and Innovations
-
COASECAFÉS’ primary added value lies in its long-standing experience, certified supply chain, and focus on naturally processed coffees. With more than three decades of accumulated know-how, the cooperative integrates traditional coffee-growing practices with standardized post-harvest protocols to ensure consistency and traceability.
The emphasis on natural (cherry-dried) processing contributes to distinctive sensory profiles while reducing water usage, aligning production with environmental sustainability goals. Rainforest Alliance certification and SCA-trained personnel support compliance with international quality, environmental, and social standards.
As a cooperative, COASECAFÉS provides partners with access to organized production, stable volumes, and transparent sourcing relationships. This structure facilitates scalability and reliability for international buyers seeking consistent supply and documented sustainability performance. - Stage of Development
