General information

Short Summary
A Danish agricultural engineering company has developed a tractor-mounted machine that converts crop residues into biochar directly in the field. The technology eliminates biomass transport and separate biochar spreading while enabling carbon sequestration and stubble treatment in a single operation. The company seeks agricultural machinery manufacturers, engineering partners and investors for further development, industrialisation and market launch.
Full Description
A Danish company has developed an innovative agricultural machine that converts crop residues, such as stubble and chaff, into biochar directly in the field after harvest. Unlike conventional biochar solutions, the technology does not require collection, transport, storage or redistribution of biomass.

The tractor-mounted machine can produce up to 2 tonnes of biochar per hectare from field residues, corresponding to an estimated carbon capture potential of up to 7.2 tonnes of CO₂ per hectare. In addition, the process performs stubble treatment and may help reduce weed seeds, pests, diseases and crop residues.

The company is seeking partners to support engineering, validation, manufacturing and commercialisation. Cooperation may include joint development, licensing, investment or industrial partnership arrangements.
Advantages and Innovations
Direct in-field biochar production with no biomass transport required.

Biochar remains in the field, eliminating redistribution costs.

Combines carbon sequestration and stubble treatment in a single operation.

Suitable for farmers and contractors due to lower investment requirements than large-scale biochar plants.

Designed as conventional tractor-mounted farm equipment.

Patent applications are pending.
