Agua de Sol presents a business opportunity in the “FRESH WATER” market—widely regarded as the market of the century - as well as offers Atmospheric Precision Irrigation Solutions:
FRESH WATER:
By addressing the rising demand for healthy, affordable, and sustainable fresh water, Agua de Sol’s SunAir Fountain® offers an innovative alternative to the growing concerns over plastic bottled water and tap water quality, in a number of countries affected by water scarcity/ quality.
- Over two billion people sill lack safe drinking water and by 2050, the number of people receiving less than 40 litres of public water daily is projected to increase fivefold;
- Over 1.2 billion people drink primarily expensive plastic bottled water, because tap water is not good enough.
The SunAir Fountain® transforms Air into Water, thanks to the Sun, in complete autonomy and sustainably. This reduces dependency on traditional water sources, eliminates the need for surface or ground water channelled to the tap, and for plastic bottled water.
The SunAir Fountain® significantly cuts pollution, CO₂ emissions, and water + plastic waste. Local production of the SunAir Fountain® further minimizes the carbon footprint by eliminating transportation.
The SunAir Fountain® look like a panel, with an aluminium frame, glass, seal, perforated tubes, adsorbent, fan, exhausts/ vents, insulated board, …. and is easy to manufacture.
ATMOSPHERIC PRECISION IRRIGATION:
Underground and surface water are depleting fast due to draught, population growth, over consumption/waste etc. Thousands of farms are affected and will disappear unless alternative sources of water are available.
To address this acute problem, Agua de Sol is also developing, under a EUREKA (EUROSTAR) program, an integrated solution for “Atmospheric Precision Irrigation”.
Thanks to this solution, thousands greenhouses, vertical and small crop farms could be saved and other created.
It works at 3 different levels as explained below:
1. Irrigation Water – for the agriculture (Food): Greenhouses, hydroponic, small crop, and vertical farms need a fraction of water used by conventional agriculture. The solution combines: SunAir Fountain panel (Shade - reducing evapotranspiration); Drip irrigation under the plant’s roots; Local weather data to calculate the exact number of drips required per day; Polymer to retain water under the plant’s root.
2. Irrigation water for green space (Non Food), like gardens, green-roofs on buildings, parking lots, etc. in a circular way, facilitates and helps:
- Shading;
- Lowering temperature;
- Reducing energy consumption from AC;
- Restoring humid spaces and cooling areas;
- Restoring biodiversity, birds, bees, etc.
3. Water cleaning urban furniture like bus shelters / advertising boards and screens, etc.) hence avoiding water trucks busying cities, polluting, using fresh water for such a purpose, etc.
The above solutions are transformative, particularly in water-stressed regions like southern Europe, the Mediterranean rim, and the Middle East. They address dual challenges—providing sustainable drinking water and efficient precision irrigation water. - Advantages and Innovations

Advantages:
• Price: Fresh water is three times less expensive than plastic bottled water (litre below €0.09 → will go much lower vs. plastic bottled water going well above current €0.22 ex: in Morocco);
• Quality: No micro-plastic, no PFAS, no germ;
• No need for any source of water (grid, underground or surface water) - full autonomy;
• No need of electricity;
• No pollution, and one panel saves 0.5 ton CO2;
• Ease of use: simple, robust, 20 years life span, almost no maintenance and consumable.
Innovation:
The SunAir Fountain® is a LOW TECH solution designed for a MASS MARKET: WATER.
The adsorption technique used by Agua de Sol makes it possible to capture (adsorb) water vapor at night when the relative humidity is maximum. The adsorbed water can then be extracted during the day by heating the adsorber which contains the adsorbent, thanks to solar thermal. The production of drinking water can be maximized depending on the place of installation, (more precisely according to the humidity of the air and the variation in day/night temperature). - Stage of Development
