- Short Summary
- A French SME innovates in thermal contraceptive underwear for men and aims to co-develop a home spermogram measurement application to enable users to monitor their contraceptive status. Research partners with prior EU funded project experience are sought to build upon existing work and co-develop clinical or technological components in areas such as andrology, male fertility, endocrinology, urology, SSH, gender studies, digital health. The final aim is to apply to an EIC Transition project.

The French SME is developing an innovative male contraceptive solution based on thermal contraception, a non-hormonal and reversible method. The core of the innovation is a wearable textile device that elevates testicular temperature to temporarily suppress sperm production. The method is hormone-free, reversible, and based on a physiological mechanism that avoids hormonal manipulation. The approach combines textile innovation with digital tracking and potential home diagnostics. It answers an unmet need in male contraception and responds to societal demand for gender equality.
The SME intends to prepare a submission for the EIC programmes (1-3M€) and looks for European partners such as University, Hospital or Research institution, preferably with previous EU funded R&D project experience in areas such as andrology, male fertility, contraception, endocrinology, gender studies (Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH), or digital health. The goal is to integrate or adapt prior research results and collaborate on clinical studies, performance validation, or translational science. - Technical Specification or Expertise Sought

Type of partner:
- Research partners with expertise in andrology, endocrinology, or urology who are interested in reproductive science; ideally, their teams have already participated in EU-funded fertility or contraception projects and wish to continue advancing research in this field. Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) Research centres with experience in population studies and gender roles are likewise encouraged to engage.
Role of the partner:
The research teams could collaborate in order to share of prior data, tools, protocols, or a technological module, as well as the willingness to co-lead an EIC project. The ideal research partner should have previously coordinated or participated in EU-funded initiatives (Horizon 2020 or Horizon Europe) in male reproductive health, fertility, or contraception, and is ready to collaborate on the preparation and execution of an EIC application.
Depending on expertise, the partner may contribute to laboratory validation, clinical research, regulatory strategy, go-to-market planning, or social science studies. The strat-up is open for collaboration with academic laboratories, hospitals, and SSH observatories with complementary expertise, with possibilities for co-publication and co-valorisation. - Type and Size of Partner
