General information

Short Summary
The German research institute at one of the leading technical universities is seeking industrial and academic research partners from Türkiye for collaboration on EU-funded projects. The focus is on interdisciplinary developments in mechanical engineering, textile process technology, medical technology, smart textiles, and fiber composite materials. The goal is to jointly develop innovative solutions and process chains for applications in mobility, health, environment, and other fields.
Full Description
The German research institute focuses on mechanical engineering and textile process technology, polymer technology and high-performance fiber materials, textile preforming and fiber composites, medical technology, smart textiles, joining technology, as well as simulation and measurement technology. The institute develops textile semi-finished products and applications for mobility, construction and housing, health, energy and environment, information and communication, production, and materials.

The institute operates in close collaboration with industry, is interdisciplinary, and internationally oriented. Publicly funded cooperative projects bring together the expertise of the institute, industry companies, and academic research partners from other fields. These projects focus on precompetitive innovations in process chains and new textile solutions for selected applications, with an emphasis on supporting innovation activities in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Furthermore, through direct research and development contracts with industrial companies, the institute helps to bring prototypes to market maturity or conducts process analyses and economic feasibility studies.

The institute’s international orientation is rooted in strategic collaborations with recognized academic and industrial research partners in Europe and Turkey, as well as in Asia and the USA.

For its research and development activities, the institute has a fully equipped technical center with approximately 250 textile machines and test benches covering all stages of textile processing, from spinning to joining. Additionally, various laboratories (for textile testing and polymer analysis) and workshops (mechanics, electronics, software and hardware) are staffed with skilled personnel.
Advantages and Innovations
The institute excels in driving forward new solutions and advanced processes across various high-impact fields. By integrating cutting-edge technology, interdisciplinary expertise, and state-of-the-art facilities, it provides substantial advantages in developing products that meet emerging market demands and technological challenges. The institute’s focus on collaboration with industry and academic partners fosters rapid innovation, scalability, and adaptability, offering a competitive edge through unique, tailored solutions that enhance efficiency, performance, and sustainability.
