The company, based in south-west Germany, collects chemicals intended for disposal from university laboratories, research institutes, and the pharmaceutical sector that still meet defined quality criteria. The collected substances are reintroduced into the laboratory cycle as "relab chemicals" and resold at reduced prices through the company’s sales partner.
Before resale, the product data sheets are reviewed to verify the chemical's stability.
Relab chemicals cannot be certified, but are available at a fraction of the market price. In addition, reuse helps to reduce CO2 emissions, as the chemicals and thus the environment are spared the disposal method of incineration.
Beside other chemicals, the main products which available for resale in bigger quantities are amino acids, sodium carbonate and potassium carbonate.
