A Latvian organisation is planning a proposal under the I3-2026-INV2a – Interregional Innovation Investments Strand 2a call.
The consortium is seeking an experienced and financially sound industrial partner capable of designing, developing, manufacturing and delivering rotational moulding machinery for the production of large HDPE components with approximate maximum dimensions of 6.5 m in length, 2.5 m in width and 1.5 m in height.

A Latvian non-profit innovation and technology organisation is developing an interregional investment project proposal under the I3-2026-INV2a – Financial and advisory support for investments in interregional innovation projects for the development of value chains in less developed regions, Strand 2a call.
The project aims to establish and demonstrate a new European value chain for the production of large rotationally moulded HDPE components. The envisaged products will be intended primarily for demanding outdoor and marine-related applications, although the production technology may also be used for large components in aquaculture, infrastructure, transport, agriculture, environmental technologies and other industrial sectors.
The consortium is looking for a machinery manufacturer, engineering company or industrial technology developer capable of designing and delivering a large-scale rotational moulding production system.
The equipment must be suitable for manufacturing components with approximate maximum dimensions of:
Length: 6.5 metres
Width: 2.5 metres
Height: 1.5 metres
A rock-and-roll rotational moulding machine is currently considered a potentially appropriate solution because of the intended component size and geometry. However, the consortium is open to other configurations, provided that the proposed machinery can reliably and economically manufacture components of the required dimensions and quality.
The machinery must be designed to process virgin and recycled HDPE. Particular importance is placed on the ability to accommodate recycled HDPE feedstock, including material with greater variability in melt behaviour, particle distribution and processing characteristics than standard virgin rotational-moulding powder.
The project partner should therefore be able to develop or adapt the machinery, heating system, mould movement, process controls and material-feeding concept to ensure consistent production when using:
* virgin HDPE powder;
* recycled HDPE powder;
* blends of virgin and recycled HDPE;
* potentially HDPE granulate, where a technically feasible granulate-based or in-line material-preparation solution is proposed;
* multilayer structures containing different virgin and recycled-HDPE formulations.
The final machinery should support the production of large components with controlled wall thickness, adequate fusion, limited porosity, repeatable mechanical properties and consistent dimensional accuracy.
The selected partner will be expected to participate actively in the technical development, engineering, production, installation, commissioning and industrial validation of the machinery. The current technology stage should be at least on : TRL 6 level and are expected to progress towards industrial deployment.
The applicable funding rate is:
70% European Commission funding;
30% own contribution by the project partner.
The prospective partner must therefore have sufficient financial capacity to provide its share of project co-financing and sufficient operational capacity to complete the machinery development and delivery. - Technical Specification or Expertise Sought

The selected partner will be responsible for the design, development, manufacturing, testing and installation of the rotational moulding machinery.
The partner is expected to:
* develop the technical concept and detailed machinery design;
* determine the most suitable machine configuration, including rock-and-roll or another relevant system for large-part production;
* adapt the machinery for processing virgin and recycled HDPE;
* manufacture and assemble the complete equipment;
* integrate the required heating, cooling, mould-handling and process-control systems;
* test and validate the machinery before delivery;
* install and commission the equipment at the project demonstration site;
* participate in production trials and process optimisation;
* provide technical documentation and operator training.
The partner should be capable of delivering a complete, operational and industrially reliable rotational moulding system suitable for the production of large HDPE components. - Type and Size of Partner
