- Short Summary
- An acceleration programme has been set up in the UK to find and trial new use cases exploiting connectivity technologies like AI, 5G, smart infrastructure. The cases may cover tracking, maintenance, efficiency, safety etc. Upon successful piloting, developers may reach commercial agreements with technical assistance with ports, a logistics centre and/or a car manufacturing plant.

Thames Freeport comprises ports, a logistics centre but also a Ford manufacturing plant.
It has recently established a Connectivity Lab. A 5G network serves the partners. The Lab now invites technology developers with proven novel use cases that exploit latest connectivity technologies. These may benefit either one or several partners. It does not need to rely on 5G but making use of faster connectivity is a plus.
An acceleration programme has been set up to support the participants in scaling their technology and business through:
- Piloting the solution in the real-world settings;
- Working directly with senior industry mentors;
- Getting support to scale and make an impact.
The lab offers an opportunity for companies to develop a commercial relationship with internal partners. - Technical Specification or Expertise Sought

The technology areas to be exploited in novel ways include AI, 5G and smart infrastructure.
In terms of applications the broad categories are Tracking & Monitoring, Maintenance & Efficiency, Health, Safety & Security but there is a Wildcard option.
