A Czech high-tech company developing and marketing various specialty products for healthcare industry has developed and markets a retrievable, self-centering stainless steel vena cava filter. It is designed to tackle thrombosis and/or pulmonary embolism. Implantation can be permanent or temporary.
Indications
Documented deep vein thrombosis and/or pulmonary embolism with a contraindication to anticoagulation
Documented progression of deep vein thrombosis or recurrent pulmonary embolism despite adequate anticoagulation
therapy
A complication of anticoagulation therapy (e.g. massive retroperitoneal hemorrhage) requiring to stop the anticoagulation
After pulmonary embolectomy or thrombolysis performed in order to treat massive pulmonary embolism
Contraindications
Total thrombosis of vena cava and/or inability to gain access to the vena cava
Inability to image during filter placement
Patients with an inferior vena cava diameter smaller than 18 mm or larger than 35mm
The filter´s set contains:
- Cartridge with compressed ELLA Filter
- 7F delivery system inner diameter (outer diameter 9F, active length 80 cm)
- 19-G puncture needle (outer diameter: 1.1 mm, length: 7 cm)
- Dilator
- 0.035” guide wire (outer diameter: 0.89 mm, length: 210 cm)
