The Municipality is a local public authority located in southern Romania, with a strategic position on the Danube and direct access to the river, representing a major advantage for the area’s economic, logistics and tourism development. This location offers significant opportunities for cross-border cooperation, river transport, port development and sustainable tourism initiatives.
The local administration plays an active role in the economic and social development of the community and aims to accelerate urban modernisation by integrating digital solutions and innovative technologies into public service management. The Municipality has experience in implementing EU-funded projects and seeks to strengthen international cooperation for know-how exchange and the development of joint projects.
The city is looking for partners to identify and implement smart city solutions and sustainable urban development projects, including in areas such as digitalisation of public services, efficient resource management, energy efficiency, development of smart urban infrastructure and the valorisation of the opportunities provided by its Danube location.
The cooperation aims at developing joint projects within European funding programmes, transferring expertise and implementing pilot solutions. The partnership is envisaged as a medium- to long-term collaboration, with the possibility of accessing European funds to support investments and the city’s sustainable development. - Advantages and Innovations
