General information

Short Summary
A team of inventors from an established Slovak scientific and research institute and an established Slovak university have developed an innovative solution for the preparation of printed electrochemical sensors, from the use of kitchen waste as an input material, through the development of printing composite dispersions, to the mass production printing of sensors.
The preferred cooperation type are commercial agreement or investment agreement.
Full Description
A team of inventors from an established Slovak scientific and research institute and an established Slovak university has developed an innovative method of producing printed composite dispersions and a screen-printed carbon electrochemical sensor. The essence of the research consists in the use of kitchen waste in (bio)sensory applications for the purpose of early detection of civilization diseases. The principle of the innovative method consists in the evaluation of kitchen vegetable waste (biochar) and its transformation into carbonaceous material in an ecological and energy-efficient way.
The institute and the Slovak university are looking for a partner to cooperate with via commercial agreement or investment agreement.
Advantages and Innovations
• the possibility of using carbonaceous material (biochar) in the preparation of printing dispersions,
• the possibility of using carbonaceous material (biochar) in the production of disposable screen-printed sensors,
• the possibility of using sensors made using carbonaceous material (biochar) for the detection of various target analytes/biomolecules at a very low concentration level with high sensitivity and selectivity.

Partner Sought

Expected Role of a Partner
The application potential of the proposed innovative method of producing printing composite dispersions and screen-printed carbon electrochemical sensors is comparable in sensitivity to that of commercially used sensors for the detection of civilization diseases.
Potential interested parties may be scientific research organizations and universities, analytical laboratories, various companies that deal with electrochemical analysis in the pharmaceutical, food, clinical, environmental and other fields.
The institute and the Slovak university are looking for a partner to cooperate with via commercial agreement (an investor to further develop this technology is sought or a partner to sell this technology to is sought) or investment agreement (a partner for licensing of this technology is sought).
