General information
- Short Summary
- Swiss-Polish Applied Research Call 2025: A Swiss health-tech company has developed a technology based on advanced IoT sensors and proprietary signal- processing algorithms that remotely measures physiological signals. The solution is contactless and privacy-preserving. They now aim to integrate the solution into an existing or co-developed digital platform and are seeking for a technology partner experienced in developing and deploying clinical or remote patient monitoring platforms.
- Full Description
-
The healthcare industry is shifting towards predictive, preventative, and personalized care. In this context, continuous and unobtrusive health monitoring plays a crucial role. The project of the Swiss health-tech SME targets this unmet need by providing a seamless monitoring solution that can be integrated into clinical decision-support systems. The aim is to deliver real-time, actionable insights to healthcare professionals and improve the quality of care across a range of conditions.
The company's core technology is based on advanced IoT sensors and proprietary signal-processing
algorithms that remotely measure physiological signals such as heart rate, respiratory rate, body motion, and sleep quality. The solution is contactless and privacy-preserving, making it ideal for long-term monitoring of patients in hospitals, care homes, or at home.
The anticipated R&D project aims to integrate the sensing solution into an existing or co-developed digital platform that aggregates, interprets, and visualizes patient data for clinicians and caregivers. The outcome will be a robust, clinically validated tool capable of supporting prevention, early diagnosis, treatment optimization, and patient engagement.
The project shall be implemented in the framework of the Swiss-Polish Applied Research Call 2025 with an application deadline of 26 May 2025. Project duration in minimum 24 months and maximum 36 months.
The call requires that a project consortium must at least be composed of a Swiss and a Polish company. A partnership will offer a unique opportunity to enhance the digital health or clinical decision-support platform with cutting-
edge, contactless sensing capabilities that are increasingly in demand across healthcare settings, especially in remote
monitoring and chronic, but also preventive care and wellness. The end goal of the project could be a joint market entry.
EOIs shall ideally by forwarded until 30 April 2025. - Advantages and Innovations
-
Use cases and Impact can be identified in various areas:
- Cardiovascular Health: Early detection and management of hypertension, arrhythmias, or heart failure through continuous trend analysis.
- Respiratory Conditions: Remote tracking of conditions like COPD and asthma, reducing emergency events through early warning signs.
- Neurology and Sleep: Supporting research and diagnosis of disorders like Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, sleep apnea, and insomnia via long-term data insights.
- Sports and Wellness: Monitoring recovery and sleep patterns in athletes and active individuals to optimize performance and prevent overtraining.
By integrating our contactless technology, the platform can:
- Differentiate itself with advanced, non-invasive physiological data (e.g., heart rate, respiration, sleep analysis)
- Expand into new clinical domains
- Offer more value to end-users by enabling passive, continuous monitoring with minimal effort
- Accelerate time-to-market for innovative features by leveraging a proven, compact sensing solution with existing hardware and API infrastructure
- Collaborate on real-world pilots and gain access to clinical validation data and user feedback through our network of healthcare and research partners - Sustainable Development Goals
- Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being
