A Dutch telecom company with a 5G network for SME customers is interested in co-development and supporting new smart farming applications with the use of 5G technology. The company is looking for open innovation cooperation in offering solutions. Companies specialised in sensoring/IoT, data engineering, artificial intelligence, augmented reality/mixed reality, visual inspection or robotics are sought for a technical cooperation agreement or a commercial agreement with technical assistance.



This Dutch telecom company has a national 5G network. The company is interested in co-development and support of products, applications or other solutions for smart farming for SME customers in the agriculture that could benefit of these 5G network. With the aim that farmers can benefit from this network for their sustainable precision-agriculture or horticulture.
The advantages of real time high capacity, low latency information processing and decision making on a central computer for smart farming are big:
• Measurements: Farmers increasingly demand real time sensoring solutions for Smart Agri to improve knowledge of the crop or land.
• Visual inspection for Smart Agri results in reducing diseases, improves yield and leads to cost reduction. Real time information interpretation of computer vision and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in precision agriculture solutions make optimizing possible.
• Navigation and positioning within greenhouses help to assist workers and or machines to work effectively.
This all comes together within automation and robotics with the ultimate goal to make greenhouses and agriculture in general wirelessly connected thus moving forward to autonomous operations.
The company focusses on the benefits of 5G like real time (decision making) and low latency aspects; for crucial applications where there is no time to waste for the farmer. As 5G mimics the reliability of a wire, but has the plug & play of a Simcard.
The company would like to cooperate with partners with proven solutions, paying SME customers and with the knowhow of this ecosystem, to distribute the information required in order to increase the relevancy of 5G and boost the smart agriculture in the Netherlands.
With the cooperation partner the company will explore possibilities to co-create, resell or other alternatives, creating win-win situations. The company aims for a scalable solution to be sold in big quantities in the agriculture in the Netherlands.
With a successful match the company can assist the SME partner to further scale-up their solution with our network partners.
