This Danish SME was established in 2017 in North Jutland and has the aim of commercialising a new type of design for elements for covering various fluid surfaces/bodies of water like ponds, basins, tanks, reservoirs, containers, lagoons etc. The founder and owner is an agronomist and farmer and has several years of experience in the industry, which subsequently became the reason for the new product to be developed. The co-owner has a professional background in the plastic industry and owns Denmark-based plastic production company that also is the manufacturing site of the hexagon shaped covers/elements.
This solution enables water to be covered, with the purpose protecting the environment and reducing chemical vapours, algae growth, odor and evaporation in general, be it a personal, professional interest or a legal requirement. The covers can be used in a wide range of industries, such as agriculture, biogas, water treatment (both wastewater and recycled water).
The hexagon shaped elements are made of recycled and UV protected polythene (PE) plastic, which makes them extremely durable and environmentally friendly. This solution is suitable for covering any kind of plant and body of water regardless of size and shape. Installation is easy since the elements will just have to be dropped down from the bag in which they are delivered in. After the elements have been dropped onto the water, they will automatically spread and eventually float together to form a complete cover. Small open spots are easily filled afterwards.
Once there is no need to continue with the cover, the elements can be collected from the water surface or from the bottom of an empty basin e.g. by using a net. The covers can re-used on other surfaces after cleaning.
Currently, the company is selling to the agriculture industry in Denmark, Canada, Germany and Poland but they are interested in finding new markets and are looking for agents and/or distributors with contacts in the agricultural sector. While they already have representatives in Germany and Poland (one in each country), they are looking for additional partners for increased sales and ther eis no exclusivity in place yet in eithe country. Of the yet unrepresented countries they are targeting France, Italy, Portugal and Spain.
