A Dutch start-up company is working on a portable highly sensitive (parts-per billion), user-friendly and real time food screening instrument based on mass spectrometry which is integrated with block chain. The aim of the start-up SME is to validate the portable device in the fruit/vegetable industry for post-harvest and shelf life quality monitoring. The Dutch SME is looking for Belgian and German Partners to validate the apparatus.
The main features of the device consist of a quadrupole mass spectrometer coupled with block chain technology. It weighs less than 10 kilograms, sensitivity of the device is in parts-per billion and it is connected to the block chain network for traceability and security of the collected data. The measure time for the detection is less than two minutes, therefore it is quicker than the other systems available at this moment.
Cooperation is foreseen within a technical cooperation agreement.
