The SME is a medium-sized German software company that has a strong reputation in Germany and abroad. Many well-known national and international blue chip companies and public institutions rely on its provided solutions and its long-standing industry and process know-how.
As one of the pioneers of artificial intelligence in Germany, the SME's employees firmly believe that artificial intelligence methods prevent people from making avoidable mistakes by better analyzing the available information.
The mission is also derived from the vision to use all information to make the right recommendations. The provided solutions and technologies, such as big data, case-based reasoning, cloud computing, component content management, decision trees, in-memory computing, semantic search, as well as text mining and linguistics, have been proven and extend above and beyond the newest technological process standards. This know-how is substantiated by numerous awards year for year.
The SME participates as well in numerous national and international research and development projects, such as the THESEUS research program (initiated by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology), which has developed the basic technologies and standards for a new Internet-based knowledge infrastructure. The German company also was coordinator of the research consortium and led two of these application scenarios. The SME is also a partner of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence, a member of the Society for Data Protection and Data Security and is represented on the board of trustees of the Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems.
Artificial intelligence is the SME's unique selling point within the target markets. Its employees have 30 years of experience within the field of artificial intelligence, which goes beyond the hype topics of Deep Learning or Machine Learning, e.g. exchanging knowledge with local institutions, such as the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence.
