An Italian-based company founded in 1958 and brand owner of two rum brands produced and aged in Panama (Ron Malteco and Rum Malecon) is looking to establish distribution services agreements with importers with the aim of building brand awareness and developing sales in foreign countries.



The Italian company launched its activity in 1958 as a producer of traditional Italian liquors and coffee roaster.

The company has been focusing its attention on the rum world for the last 20 years. Thanks to passion and dedication, it has created two rum brands, both produced in Panama: Ron Malteco and Rum Malecon.

Ron Malteco is produced from sugar cane juice, which ensures a sweet taste, usually well appreciated by young people, women and first timers.
On the other hand, Rum Malecon is a dry rum made from molasses. It is highly appreciated by connoisseurs, such as whiskey and cognac drinkers, who would like to approach the rum world.

The production and the aging in barrels of the rum lines take place in Panama following the company's specific recipes and regulations. The rum is imported in bulk, stored and bottled in the Italian plant to carry out the final quality checks and to maximize flexibility and the management of the logistics to the customer.
The company has a large network in Europe and beyond, exporting its two rum brands in over 25 countries worldwide (Europe, Asia, America). In order to further widen the distribution of its two rum brands, the company is looking for exclusive importers in several countries.

The positioning of its brands is in the medium-high segment of the market with a prevailing distribution through the HORECA channels and in specialized stores, and some presences in the mass market distribution chains.

The ideal partner would need to have a strong experience of brand building in the spirits field. In addition, it would need to be provided with a wide established network of distributors and retailers in both the on-trade and the off-trade sectors. Its distribution channels should cover its country's territory as much as possible. The partner will be asked to draw up an advertising and promotion marketing plan and also to make a forecast of sales for the first 2 to 3 years, according to their knowledge of the market and the characteristics of the brands.
