A Japanese company has developed a tool to manually grind coffee beans, tea leaves as well as spices. The grinder is using an innovative ceramic blade allowing better performance compared to similar products. Following a successful introduction in the Japanese market, the company aims to expand into the EU and is looking for a partner with whom to achieve a distribution agreement.

A Japanese manufacturer of various household utensils and tableware has developed innovative manual grinders for coffee beans, tea leaves and spices.

Founded in 1936, the company is based in Sanjo City, Niigata prefecture, a region well known in the world as a major manufacturing place of high-quality tableware and cutlery.

They are specialized in developing innovative tableware and kitchen tools which are highly appreciated by end users. During the product development process, they adopt ideas coming from their customers so that they are able to manufacture a product which exactly meets their customers’ expectations.

About 6 years ago, they introduced their manual grinders/mill-typed kitchen tools into Japanese market.
Since then, it has received an outstandingly positive market reaction. They have been successfully rated as one of the top-five leading manufacturers in the segment of mill-typed products.

They are currently mainly doing business in Japan and, following the local success, are considering further expansion of their business into European countries. Therefore, the company is seeking a partner in Europe which could be a distributor or importer for the kitchen tools.

They are searching for a distribution partnership with a company who understand the quality and durability of their Japan-made products. It would be ideal if they could have a long-term partnership and business relation with the potential partner.
They would be happy to work with a partner that is willing to exchange ideas on improving the product's efficiency and functioning.

Please note that that they would request an initial minimum order of 200 units, which is non-returnable, to the potential partner.

Advantages & innovations

Cooperation plus value:
Their manual grinders have the following advantages: -From the early stage of development of their mill-type grinding tools, they focused on the blade of the grinder as a key part. After long and persevering technical efforts, they developed a light burden blade to grind by using ceramics. All their products are using this blade. - The reduced burden of the grinder allows users to enjoy a better taste and scent for a longer period. That also means it is possible to keep the mill much longer in mint condition. - The blade enables to grind whole coffee beans, tea leaves and spices easily, with little strength needed. Test results show that one needs roughly 18% less strength in comparison with similar products in Japan. Moreover, their product is faster, as test reveals that using it takes 20% time. -The product is made of 20 carefully selected and assembled pieces made in Japan, allowing the users to grind easily. - Moreover, the products are available in a wide variety of grinding sizes, designs, or types (coffee, tea, spices) according to user's preferences.
