A Korean company as a leader in the semiconductor testing market wants to provide ceramic substrates to which newly developed sputtered thick coating technology has been applied. The products are high in thermal conductivity, stability and heat dissipation. The company aims to be an original equipment manufacturer(OEM) for electronics companies under commercial or manufacturing agreements.

With long and professional experience in semiconductor testing market, the company has devoted to developing high efficient magnetron sources based on the plasma diagnostics and synthesis of functional thin films.

This newly developed sputtered thick coating(STC) technology can be applied not only to ceramic, metal and polymer substrates but also to various industries. With its advantages, the company expects to grow their market shares all over the world since it has been proved that the demand for ceramic & metal PCB substrates is increasing due to a growing market for LED BLU, high brightness/high power LEDs and high power modules.

The key technology of sputtering technology is performing a thick coating on ceramic, metal and polymer substrates using the high rate and efficiency magnetron sputtering. Here, “sputtering” is a vacuum process used to deposit thin/thick films on substrates It is performed by applying a high voltage across a low-pressure gas to create a "plasma“, which consists of electrons and gas ions in a high energy state. During sputtering, energized plasma ions strike a "target", composed of the desired coating material, and cause atoms from that target to be ejected with enough energy to travel to, and bond with, the substrate.
