Description: 

The bacterial flora consists in the microorganisms that are commonly found as saprophytes on the skin. The hands are an ideal ecosystem for the growth of bacteria and other microorganisms. It is important to be able to sample the bacterial flora from the hand of a healthcare professional.

Current methods used for the detection of bacterial flora in health professionals are not adequate, since the bacterial flora present in the fingertips of healthcare professionals is not the most representative of the potential infections.

A Spanish hopital research group has developed a plate for sampling contaminant bacterial flora in the hand of a healthcare professional. The plate is specially designed for sampling of bacterial flora from the palm of the hand of a healthcare professional comprising benchmarks intended to be placed on anatomical elements of the hand palm in order to correctly position the plate and an orifice for taking samples located in an area of the plate.

The research group is looking for the following collaboration:
-License agreement: framework of authorizing the interested parties to use the technology.
-Technical cooperation agreement: to collaborate with other research teams, companies or foundations to adapt the technologies to biological and therapeutic applications.
