Dutch sustainable sport clothing brand for men and women wants to develop a fully biodegradable alternative to elastane for application in sportswear such as leggings and sports tops. They are looking for partners with expertise in sustainable and technical-tech textiles to help them develop innovative an eco-friendly alternative for elastane. A technical cooperation agreement or a commercial agreement with technical assistance is sought.



The company exists of three entrepreneurs. Their vision is to create a future where natural fabrics like hemp and eucalyptus are the new standard of the (sports) fashion industry. They want to achieve this by creating high performance shirts from sustainable materials. The Dutch fashion brand works towards a sustainable and circular fashion industry, by working transparent and offering products that are produced sustainable.

That is the reason why this young company is searching for an alternative for elastane used in sportswear. This alternative should be fully biodegradable. Insofar the Dutch company knows, such a new material does not exist. The Dutch company has ideas, for development of fully biodegradable alternative to elastane that can be used in sport clothing. To this end, they require partners who can bring their technical expertise in high-tech textiles in order to improve and add to the Dutch company's range of sport clothing products.

The cooperation would be in the frame of a technical cooperation agreement or a commercial agreement with technical assistance.

The partner sought is expected to have the required technical expertise in biodegradable textile materials and sport clothing to be able to integrate these into the new type of eco-sport clothing offered by the Dutch company. The partner's knowledge of these materials will be implemented into the Dutch company's collection and the goal is to develop more skills to create innovative, sustainable, and natural sport clothing. Ideally the Dutch company would like to work with textile experts, e.g. technology transfer units who have contacts in the textile industry, or laboratories specialising in biodegradable textile materials as alternative for elastane The partners will be willing to work with raw materials, bringing their technological know-how and expertise in analysing/testing these new materials and advising on their suitability for the new products that the Dutch company designs. These partners may also have the relevant contacts (e.g. manufacturers) through their own network who can help with prototyping. Such connection would be valuable to the Dutch company. This combined technology know-how will enable the partners to develop together innovative projects which needs to be free of any chemical’s colorants. So, the ecological approach and experience is key here. The type of partnership envisaged is a technical cooperation agreement or a commercial agreement with technical assistance.
