Summary

Summary:
A UK company has built from ground up novel solutions around fixed passive (battery free) Radio-frequency identification. (RFID) tag readers. These achieve the accuracy of 99.9% in real-time and are now accessible for many sectors where active tag readers have been cost-prohibitive. Organisations in manufacturing, healthcare, supply chains and logistics, retail etc. are sought for commercial agreements with technical assistance.

Description

Description:

Poor readability and short range limitations are preventing the widescale deployment of fixed passive Radio-frequency identification (RFID) reader systems because they cannot deliver the high levels of accuracy expected in an IoT driven world. Conventional fixed passive RFID readers struggle to read >80-90% of the tags in the vast majority of applications and use cases because of RFID dead spots (blind spots).
In some cases, handheld readers are being used but the associated time and cost is prohibitive. With active RFID solutions, the cost is prohibitive for most industry sectors.
A UK company has successfully built up technology for novel fixed readers with advanced signal processing, to lift the accuracy of passive RFID tag reading to 99.9%. A single fixed reader can cover up to 400 m2 and they are scalable to larger areas whilst remaining easy to install.
The system is successfully in use in mission critical operations such as tracking tools during aircraft overhaul. Cost-wise, it is accessible for many sectors including manufacturing, healthcare, logistics and supply chains, retail etc. The accurate real time tracking has brought better efficiencies and reduction of waste and losses in all of these.
The UK company seeks companies in these and further sectors, for commercial agreements with technical assistance. They provide help with installation and extensive technical support.

Advantages & innovations

Cooperation plus value:
The built-from-the-ground hardware and software has resulted in a system that is as accurate as active RFID at the cost of passive RFID. Real-time tracking of assets and stock is now accessible in many sectors that so far had to push back installing such solutions.
