Summary:
A Polish company specializing in nanotechnology and materials engineering offers its products based on silver nanopowder. The company is offering thermal silvering paints dedicated to the heavy industry. This process is used in the electrical and power industry. Their new technology replaces the obsolete, environmentally harmful electrochemical silvering proces. The company is searching for international cooperation under an outsourcing agreement.
Cooperation plus value:
The material base of the solution are silver nanoparticles. The smaller the particles, the higher their potential energy and the lower the temperature required for their sintering. The company achieved a grain size of 10 nm. This size allows the formation of a stable sinter at 50% of the normal melting point for silver. The properties of the composite are secured by organic substances added at the production stage. The company's employees developed a composite based on nanoparticles. The new technology allows to sinter silver onto aluminium, copper and other electrical contacts without the need for any intermediate layer. The process is versatile and can also be performed on brass, bronze, steel or even glass or ceramics. From the customer's point of view, thermal silver plating is simple and can be easily done at the customer's site using popular tools. Only three simple steps are required: 1. Preparation of the substrate with degreasing and dust removal 2. Composite application with a short drying stage 3. Sintering in an oven at 500 ° C The composite is non-toxic and safe for humans. The entire process is not a heavy burden for the environment, using the recycling of potentially harmful substances only in the internal production process of the composite (fatty acids, methanol). The layers obtained by thermal silver plating show efficiency comparable to those obtained in electrochemical processes (comparable range of resistance), but the application itself is devoid of the disadvantages of chemical methods.

Cooperation area:
The partner is to be a company from heavy industry from the following sectors:
1. Energy and power electronics - the use of a thin protective layer of another material on the contact surface of a perfectly efficient main channel prevents oxidation and extends the life and usability of the entire transmission line. However, the materials used for the outer layer can offer not only protection against adverse external conditions, but also excellent conductivity. Silver or silver alloys are most commonly used for this type of application.
2. Biostatic, biocidal and antiviral coatings - the second area of application of silver coatings is to protect surfaces against the growth of bacteria and give them antiviral properties. Such a layer can be obtained on metallic, porcelain and sanitary equipment elements made of plastic, which show the greatest usability. The technology of producing composite layers allows for effective, long-term and, above all, independent antiviral prevention.
Although the biostatic properties of silver have been known for a long time, this area is gaining importance in the fight against viruses such as SARS-COV-2. The recipients of the solution are companies producing sanitary equipment and sanitary facilities of public places such as shopping centers and supermarkets, health care clinics, railway and bus stations.
When using the company's products, the entire application and production of the layer can take place at the customer's plant. Thanks to this, the granting of virucidal properties to public objects can take place in a much shorter time, as the subcontracting of electroplating plants is omitted.
The company would like to sign a an outsourcing agreement.
