Established in Transylvania, the Romanian SME started its business in 2013 in the field of processing and preserving of fruit and vegetables by producing various types of berries jam (blueberries cranberries rosehip bitter cherries black cherries raspberry blackberries), as well as a Romanian traditional roasted vegetable spread.
After a few years of producing the above mentioned products, the Romanian entrepreneur wanted to make something new and he oriented his efforts towards chocolate, but as he was interested in producing more than candy and pralines, the bean-to-bar chocolate seemed to be the perfect idea.
Thus, Romanian SME’s the bean-to-bar chocolate story started in 2016, in London, where the entrepreneur had his first experience in the world of bean-to-bar chocolate.
Then, the Romanian entrepreneur went to Vilnius, where he met one of the greatest craftsmen of the new wave of chocolate in the world. So, in the small chocolate factory, one learned a lot about unique machines, bags of cocoa beans arrived from farmers in South America and not least about artisan production of bean-to-bar chocolate.
A period of research and various attempts followed and finally in 2019 the Romanian SME started to make the bean-to-bar chocolate, following the path from the cocoa bean to the chocolate tablet, using only simple and very good quality ingredients.
As bean- to-bar means care and attention at every step in the preparation of chocolate, the Romanian SME is now producing and selling six types of bean-to-bar chocolate:
-Milk chocolate 54% cocoa
-Milk chocolate 54% cocoa with sea salt
-Milk chocolate 54% cocoa with pistachio
-Milk chocolate 54% cocoa with roasted walnuts
-Dark chocolate 70% cocoa
-Dark chocolate 70% cocoa with plums and brandy
Although most of the bean-to-bar chocolate varieties are known, the Romanian entrepreneur is proud to produce an authentic dark chocolate with plums and traditional Transylvanian brandy.
The chocolate is based on a mixture of cocoa beans from South America and/ or Africa and all bean-to-bar chocolate are nicely packaged in 2 sizes: 40g and 70g or 80g.
The Romanian SME is currently selling the bean-to-bar chocolate on the internal market, via retail networks or the company’s on-line shop.
As the Romanian SME’s bean-to-bar chocolate is already known on the internal market, the company in interested in promoting and selling its bean-to-bar chocolate (especially the authentic dark chocolate with plums and traditional Transylvanian brandy) abroad via international agents.
