A Slovenian company was founded in 2016 with the aim of developing multifunctional toys for children. They are focused on a development and manufacturing of wooden toys with emphasis on a 3in1 bike. Although company operates mostly on domestic market, they established recognized trademark and with the bike design they won a national award for innovation. Due to the safety, health and environmental reasons, they comply to the standards for CE marking (conformity with health, safety, and environmental protection standards for products sold within the European Economic Area) and SIST EN 71 (European standard EN 71 specifies safety requirements for toys) 71-1 (Mechanical and physical properties) and 71-3 (Specification for migration of certain elements).
.
The multifunctional toy (3in1 bike) can be quickly turned into a balance bike, a tricycle or a scooter. In general, shifting from one form to another takes 30 to 60 minutes, but later this time can be shortened, since some parts may be already assembled and users are familiar with the design and procedure. Although parents are those who assemble the bike, children can participate as well (depending their age and skills) and through this interaction social skills are developed.
Mentioned combination of a 3in1 bike helps children to achieve better physical development from 1,5 – 5 years as well. Bike is primarily made of birch and beech wood that can withstand all child's mischief, while wheels are made of inflatable rubber. Besides 7 general parts like frame, seat and handlebar, there are 3 standard bike air tires (8-inch and 10-inch). Tires absorb vibrations, provide appropriate grip as it adapts to the driving surface and giving the feeling of comfort. Product comes in a package with all necessary parts and tools. Assembled bike has different weight depending the form – a balance bike (3,6 kg), a scooter (3,8 kg) and a tricycle (5,5 kg). Weight limit for any form is 30 kg.
All the production is currently located in Slovenia. The product is selling through some Austrian and Slovenian shops and different web platforms. Due to strong demand, they plan on expanding their range of products for preschool and school children.
