An international chemistry contract research organisation has built an extensive skillset in synthetic and medicinal chemistry. At the same time, they have built a good customer base in the Pharma industry. The company has identified 5 robust candidates for clinical trials for their clients over the past 3 years.
They are interested in early stage small compounds that would benefit from optimisation or synthesis as a chemical or medicinal chemistry project. The idea is to explore dual contribution/dual return type projects. The parties will agree on a goal in terms of the desired potency etc that would be attractive for the Pharma industry. The chemistry company would contribute significantly towards the development of a robust compound with the agreed attributes and later share any commercial returns. At the same time they will not make any claims on the IP generated.
The company has worked in practically all indication areas so that is not a limitation. They would also consider a grant-funded project. Mostly, joint ventures and technical cooperation are sought around early stage small compounds. First, desired technical and commercial goals will be set followed by a detailed description of the involvement of either party.
