A Spanish start-up has developed an Internet of Things (IoT) technology based on Narrowband-IoT (NB-IoT) and cloud that improves water metering reading at domestic use.
In order to start the system deployment within the Spanish market, the company is looking for manufacturers of the following sensors:
-NB-IoT Electronic radio water meter capsule domestic size with the following requirements:
•It adapts mechanically to water meters that allow magnetic or inductive reading for the measurement of water consumption and transmits this information via radio using the NB-IoT or LTE-M (Long Term Evolution (4G), category M1) protocol.
•It works with batteries that have to allow the operation for a minimum of 10 years with a daily broadcast. Allows visual reading of the analogue counter on which it is installed.
•In addition to the measurements it has to generate alarms in cases of disassembly of the equipment, very low battery level, reverse flow, leak detection, handling and magnetic sabotage.
-NB-IoT Electronic device for heat cost allocation with the following requirements:
•Measuring heat output by radiators.
•Values are measured through radiator and room air temperature sensors. These measured values are used as a basic for calculation of the consumption calculation. The calculation is loaded in the device and transmitted via NB-IoT.
•It works with batteries that have to allow the operation for a minimum of 10 years with a daily broadcast
•The device is installed in the radiator and has to generate alarm in case of disassembly of the equipment and very low battery level.
•Can be used for the following types of radiator: Ribbed radiators, tubular radiators, panel-type radiators with horizontal and vertical water flow, radiators with internal tube register and convectors.
-NB-IoT Digital ultrasonic water meter domestic size with the following requirements:
•No moving parts in order to allow longer term life.
•It measures and records water consumption and transmit via NB-IoT or LTE-M (Long Term Evolution (4G), category M1).
•Battery powered with more than 10 years life expectancy.
•Rugged mechanical design - submersible (IP68)
•Flexible data formats including flow directions, flow rates, volumes and leak detection. Also generates alerts in case of leak and very low battery level.
Currently the company is running a pilot before starting commercialization and deployment. The number of units per year is still to be defined but it might be around 20.000 per year
The company is looking for sensor manufacturers willing to cooperate under manufacturing agreement.
