Description

Description:

Located in the city of Valencia (Spain), the association is a non-profit organization that has approximately 20,000 members. Founded in 1977, currently has around 60 workers and more than 230 local delegations around the Valencian Community, whose main purpose is to offer its members a wide range of services, ranging from technical, legal, fiscal and labor advice, to support and management of aid files, agricultural and general insurance, among others, and the performance of training activities; all this, in an efficient, specialized and comprehensive way.
As a sign of its commitment to innovation and to the Valencian countryside, they acquired a rustic farm that meets climatic, soil and dimensional conditions suitable for the purpose of experimentation. The main aim of this agricultural experimentation project is carrying out tests and transferring the results obtained from the experimentation to the Valencian farmers in a fast, useful and efficient way.

In addition to the design of experiments, field trials, and analysis of results, they have great experience and expertise in dissemination tasks, data collection, surveys, as well as the search for sampling points or other specialized collaborations. In this context, they have a great power of communication due to the number of associates they have, as well as their experience in agricultural dissemination tasks. Moreover, they have participated to date in numerous innovation projects, both at national and European level. Among the European projects in which they have participated, they can mention the LIFE and the H2020 program.

The association is open to, through a research cooperation agreement or a joint venture, offer its resources and experience to develop a project proposal subjective to receive EU finance.

Advantages & innovations

Cooperation plus value:
The association has more than 40 years of experience in the agricultural sector and has approximately 20,000 members of this sector. In addition to its experience and background, it has an agricultural exploitation of more than 30 hectares, composed of different types of crops oriented to experimentation, which makes this association the perfect partner for testing and validation of technologies in a real environment. This exploitation has a primary irrigation network installed, which consists of 6 hydraulic lines in order to be able to alternate different, fertilizers, applications, etc. In particular, a watering head has been installed to house the filtration systems, network control, fertilizer tanks, automatisms, etc. Moreover, each plot is subdivided into four irrigation units, a condition that already facilitates experimentation with different parameters. In addition to the above, the exploitation has installed an Agro-climatic Information System for Irrigation (SIAR), which provides official climatologically data to allow farmers and agricultural technicians with basic information to calculate crop irrigation needs and thus improve the efficiency of water use. In addition to the design of experiments, field trials, and analysis of results, the association has vast experience and expertise in dissemination tasks, data collection, surveys, as well as the search for sampling points or other specialized collaborations. In this context, has a great power of communication due to the number of associates that the entity has, as well as its experience in agricultural information dissemination tasks. Moreover, the association edits its own magazine with several articles of interest for the sector.
