Summary

Summary:
The Swedish designer of wooden toys is looking for a manufacturer in Europe that can produce their toxic free, CE marked wooden toys for children ages 0-3 years old. Potential manufacturers can expect a long term cooperation to deliver the existing 12 varieties of wooden toys as well as upcoming development of new designs.

Description

Description:

The Swedish brand was developed in 2013 by two sisters who wanted to design products for the “little ones” (0-3 year olds). During 2019 they started a company representing only this brand. The products are designed in Sweden and a producer is sought in Europe for the wooden toys. The designers have a large variety of items e.g. educational
wooden toys, backpacks, lamps, rugs, cups, blankets, baby nests etc. The products are sold via distributors in Sweden, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Spain and the UK.

The Swedish designers are looking for established manufacturers with experience of producing wooden toys. Potential manufacturers can expect a long term cooperation as well as development of new designs.

Sustainability is a key factor for the Swedish company. The Swedish designers want to make the world a better place bit by bit and aim to be climate positive. The Swedish company use carbon offsets to compensate for the greenhouse gas emissions caused by the transportation of their products. The products they design are produced out of material that are organic, GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), fair trade, eco-friendly, bio degradable or made from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council)wood.

Today the company has 8 different wooden toys in different colors in their assortment – in total 12 different varieties. An example of volume is their abacus which comes in two colors.
It is estimated that the order size will be about 3000 pcs/ delivery and 4-5 deliveries per year.

Advantages & innovations

Cooperation plus value:
The designs are gender-neutral and are intended to spark the imagination of the children using the products. The Swedish company has continuous new products and designs development of new wooden toys.

Technical Specification or Expertise Sought

Cooperation sought:
The manufacturer will be responsible for ensuring that standards and certificates (CE (Conformité Européenne), EN 71-1 (Mechanical and physical properties), EN 71-3 (Specification for migration of certain elements)) are met (European standard EN 71 specifies safety requirements for toys.). The products should be produced in FSC-Certified wood. Since the end users are babies (0-3 years old) the products must be non-toxic, contain no chemical dyes and the manufacturers must use organic colors or eco labelled paint.
