This UK company specialises in the design, manufacture and supply of public order equipment and clothing to police forces and prison services all over the world. Its product range includes riot helmets and shields, police batons, uniform accessories and boots (amongst others). The company wishes to extend its network of distributors and is therefore seeking new partners in the USA, Canada and in the rest of Europe.

The UK company was established in 1993 and over the last 25+ years has become a leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of public order equipment and clothing.

The company has been able to bring the frontline experience of its Managing Director and other team members to bear on the design, innovation and manufacture of personal protective equipment for police forces, prisons and other ‘blue light’ industries. Its wide product range includes:

• Riot helmets
• Protective gloves
• Limb protection
• Police boots
• Police uniform accessories
• Riot shields
• Uniform gloves
• Motorcycle gloves
• Police batons
• Flame retardant clothing
• Hand cuffs
• Ballistic shields and helmets

As well as its own range of stock items, the company has established relationships with a network of approved manufacturers and suppliers with whom it works closely, ensuring ethical and responsible sourcing through its membership of Sedex (one of the world’s leading ethical trade service providers, which works to improve working conditions in global supply chains).

Furthermore, thanks to its in-house design team and its own leather and canvas workshop, the firm has the expertise and capability to design and produce bespoke solutions, as well as make modifications to an existing product. It can also undertake small quantity orders where required. During the Covid-19 crisis, the company has also been able adapt its knowledge gained from the design and manufacture of police riot helmets to create anti-microbial faceshields for health and care workers.

The company is accredited to BS EN ISO 9001:2008 and continually checks the quality of all the products it supplies, to ensure that quality standards are maintained throughout the entire process.

The public order protection equipment supplied by the UK company is now used by police forces in countries across the world, including in Australia, Canada and Malaysia. However, it is keen to grow its international sales further and is therefore looking to appoint new distributors with a particular focus on the European, US and Canadian markets. Partners should have excellent contacts with potential clients in the police, prison or other security-related services.

Advantages & innovations

Cooperation plus value:
The UK company can offer the following advantages to potential partners: • The opportunity to work with a well-established company, run by a team who, from their own frontline experience and on-going contacts in the police force, have a deep understanding of the needs and demands of those working in public law and order enforcement; • High quality products, as ensured by the company’s quality management accreditation (ISO 9001), and a wide product portfolio to meet a variety of needs within police and other security services; • Assurance that those products sourced from other suppliers are produced under Good Manufacturing Practice by reliable and approved manufacturers (the company’s membership of Sedex confirms its commitment to an ethical and responsible supply chain); • Product support and training from the UK company’s technical team, as well as marketing and sales support (including help with lead generation) from its sales team • Good margin opportunities
