EXPRESS YOUR INTEREST

Summary

Summary:
Spanish biotechnological centre offers in vitro immunomodulatory assays for the characterization of probiotics, ingredients and active pharmaceutical ingredients, where parameters are measured (phagocytic or arginase activity, production of reactive nitrogen species or of different cytokines).Companies, research institutions and universities are sought to establish research agreements or technological cooperation. Proposals to be part of an international consortium of researchers will be welcome

Description

Description:

Spanish biotechnological private non-profit research institute develops research in cellular and molecular biology and microbial biotechnology areas.

The institute has expertise in cellular and molecular biology, omics tools, bioinformatics and background as participant in European projects. It offers its expertise in conducting in vitro immunomodulatory assays, including phagocytic activity, production of reactive nitrogen species, arginase activity or production of different cytokines for the characterization of probiotics, ingredients, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), etc.

The offered in vitro tests are of great strategic value for the development of potential drugs in the preclinical testing phase or analysed of food products or feeds.

The desired cooperation type would be technology cooperation agreement with biotechnological entities interested in validating its models with in vitro test. In addition, the biotechnological research institute is looking for research cooperation agreement with pharmaceuticals, agro-food or food entities interested in validating its products with in vitro assays.

Therefore, the institute offers its technological expertise in order to be part of a consortium built up for European Union funding programs, where it could participate for conducting in vitro immunomodulatory assays in the development of novel drugs, or analysed of food products or feeds.

Advantages & innovations

Cooperation plus value:
These analyses require specific know-how and high degree of expertise, which have been acquired by their researchers for several years. Their staff has been trained and certified and possesses the accreditation in the use of animals for scientific purposes (categories C and D). The main advantage of the service is the possibility of multiplexing cytokine determination using flow cytometry.

Partner sought

Cooperation area:
The partner sought is an academic, research organization or company in the agro-food, feed or pharmaceutical sector interested in a research or technical cooperation agreement. Potential partners should be looking for developing innovative solutions, carrying out in vitro immunomodulatory assays for the characterization of probiotics, ingredients and APIs.
