An Italian startup has developed an innovative steam engine that can use waste heat or heat directly produced from renewable energy sources, like biomass. The new steam engine is featured by a high efficiency (up to 30%) and a reduction of CO2 emission. The company is looking for financial agrement and collaboration with engineering and manufacturing companies for the final development and commercialization via a joint-venture or technical co-operation agreement.
The Italian company is an innovative startup devoted to high efficiency engines and machines development, responding to the needs of practical and viable solutions for the production of energy in situations where dispersed heat is available at high temperature.
In the case of endothermic engines exhaust or processes in which it is unused, or even directly produced by biomass boilers or other sources, the waste heat can be recovered for the steam generation through a heat exchanger.
The such produced steam can be used to feed the new steam engine, featured by a high efficiency (up to 30%), being compatible with that of large turbines used only in giant multi-megawatt systems.
A wide range of applications can be envisaged, particularly regarding the the powers between 10 and 1000 kW which, for reasons of poor performance and therefore uneconomic use of the existing equipment, are not usually taken into consideration.
The innovative engine, featured by technical solutions covered by the patent, can exploit the physical properties of the steam, having solved basic problems such as the tightness at high pressures and the frictions containment or cancellation.
The steam engine can be therefore a valid and efficient solution to produce energy without CO2 emissions, even in dislocated or isolated location.
The company is looking for financial support for the final stage of the engine development. It also offers technical co-operation to engineering and manufacturing companies interested in the engine production and commercialization. The proposed collaboration types are financial, joint-venture or technical co-operation agreement.
The patented steam engine can offer:
- a wasted heat feeding
- high efficiency (up to 30%)
- a wide power range from 10 to 1.000 kW
- clean energy production, without CO2 emission
- a wide range of applications, even in isolated locations.
The extention of the Italian patent will cover all European countries.
The Italian company is interested in finding:
- financial partners for funding the final stage of the engine development
- technical partners (engineering or manufacturing companies) to be involved in completing the engine development and interested in the new engine production and commercialization
The cooperation with the technical partners will be managed within a a joint-venture or a technical co-operation agreement.
