UK company has been building affordable classic sailing boats in glass reinforced plastic (grp) for over 50 years. The company wishes to expand their overseas market and they are seeking interest from agents or distributors of sailing dinghies, trailer sailing boats and larger classic yachts, worldwide.
This company is widely recognised in British boat building. Their boats are well known by all UK sailors and accepted as extremely seaworthy classic sailing boats. The sailing boats are made from glass reinforced plastic (grp), from 4.5 M to 7.62 M. The design of the boats has a very classic look, with their tan coloured sails, brass fittings and wooden spars.
All the open day boats and cabin boats are compliant to the Recreational Craft Directive (RCD) category C, with a crew capacity from 4 to 12 people.
Amongst their clients are: outdoor adventure centres, the Scout Association and the Royal Yachting Association (RYA), which runs a Sailability scheme for individuals with disabilities and of course, families who love the outdoors.
The brand has traded for 52 years with a focus on the UK market. As production is now subcontracted (by another UK manufacturer), the company has capacity to increase production within the existing cost base and they are looking to expand overseas. They are therefore looking for partners for distribution and commercial agents agreements.
The boats are considered to be one of the best value for money grp classic sailing boats in the UK market. The boats range in price from £9,500 plus vat, up to £18,000 plus vat for a Gig with a capacity for 12 people
The boats are both lightweight but extremely stable, from 210 kg to 800 kg, they are therefore ideal for trailer sailing.
With a shallow draft of 0.37 M to 0.46 M with centre plate raised, they are ideal for exploring shallow waters.
The company are looking for a long term partnership to build the fully established UK brand overseas. They are looking for established agents or distributors to represent the brand in their country.
They will be required to exhibit at a number of international boat shows.
They would also welcome partnerships with brands that are complimentary to their brand.
