A start-up from Northern Sweden specialized in designing surface pattern is searching for a European manufacturing partner for production of patterned linen fabrics (through digital printing or weaving) and sewing of home and kitchen textiles. Favoured is a long-term partnership via a manufacturing agreement.
The Swedish start-up company creates unique and time-less repetitive surface pattern inspired by cellular structures inside plants and mushrooms. The founder is also selected in one of Sweden's most respected business incubators for creative industry start-ups, bridging art and research with business.
Their patterns are based on microscopy images from biology research and adapted for digital print. They are suited for interior design, accessories and clothing. The start-up offers ready-made or custom-made pattern, textiles and textile products with these patterns.
In order to launch their own brand and collection based on their unique surface pattern inspired by microscopy and research they are now looking for producers of textiles and textile products.
The start-up is seeking a partner that primarily can provide
digital printing (pigment dyes) or weaving of these patterns into/onto linen of at least 1,4m wide of diverse qualities (150-240g/m2) with optional stone-washing as finishing. It is beneficial if the producer can furthermore provide sewing service for home and kitchen textiles in house or in an established partnership with another company.
The start-up aims for high environmental and social standards. Fabrics need to be sustainable produced from European flax and fabrics including prints OEKO-TEX or GOTS certified. Production needs to occur under high social standards for employees. Products shall be sold at a medium affordable price.
The start-up is looking for a long-term relation with the selected manufacturing partner and therefore it of great important that the manufacturer is keen to be involved in test printing and consultation to optimize products at small scale (>20m fabrics, >50 products manufactured) but also has the capacity to scale up productions with increasing orders. Favoured is manufacturing agreements with a partner that can offer both printing/weaving and sewing. Digital printing or weaving with linen is a minimum requirement.
