A non-university research organisation from Germany is seeking for a coordinator for a project in H2020 ICT-29-2018: "A multilingual Next Generation Internet" (RIA). They are in the process of setting up a consortium on the development of multi-lingual semantic applications, for example for a multi-lingual indexation of patents in order to make them accessible to a wider, general public. They offer a comprehensive bilingual (English-German) thesaurus for technical and management topics.
A non-university research organisation from Germany is seeking a coordinator and partners to set up a project in H2020 ICT-29-2018: "A multilingual Next Generation Internet" (RIA). The coordinator should be either established as a key player in the industrial sector (Smart Factory) or as a key provider of natural language processing technology.
Industrial standards, norms and patents are often hard to access both by members of the industrial sector and even more so by the general public -- not only are they often restricted but they also use a very technical language which is designed to reveal only a minimum of details. This difficulty is sharpened by the language barrier. In order to make those documents more accessible to a wide community with a professional or recreational interest in technology in Europe the organisation and the partners can provide expertise in semantic technologies and the development of multi-lingual knowledge organization systems (vocabularies, thesauri, ontologies) in order to index those resources and convey the essence of their contents. They offer a comprehensive bilingual (English-German) thesaurus for technical and management topics on which first experiments for an expansion towards an Arabic (including non-latin characters) and a Spanish version have been conducted. They are also in contact with an Italian partner who participated in the development of the largest multilingual (29 languages) agricultural online thesaurus AGROVOC.
