Modified pulsed xenon units are currently used to disinfect all cargo moving to the international space station. The activity of pulsed ultraviolet affects all microorganism types including hospital and drug-resistant strains of bacteria, mycobacteria, spores and mold fungi. Multiple reductions of bactericidal doses, high capacity and constant operational readiness of pulsed xenon lamps (no warming up time required) allow disinfecting a room in a matter of minutes.
