The webinar series ‘Embracing global markets’ supports European small and medium sized enterprises and start-ups to innovate and expand in Asia, Africa and the Americas. The webinars are hosted by experts of various European Commission services and the 'Enterprise Europe Network', the world's largest business service provider.
Who should attend?
The webinar aims at European small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), start-ups (ready to scale internationally), beneficiaries or holders of seals of excellence of the European Innovation Council, European clusters and cluster managers, business advisers of the Enterprise Europe Network and other European business support organisations, including all stakeholders of the ‘Friends of EEN’ initiative.
Objectives
The trade agreement between the EU and New Zealand came into effect on 1 May 2024.
This landmark agreement is expected to further bolster the steady growth in bilateral trade, with forecasts indicating a 30% increase in trade volumes. The removal of tariffs alone is anticipated to save businesses €140 million annually.
Additionally, EU investment in New Zealand could rise by over 80% in the coming years. Thanks to the stability and certainty provided by the agreement, trade in services is also expected to increase.
This webinar is designed to help European businesses navigate and leverage the benefits of the agreement.

Diane Lacoste
Diane is Head of the Trade Section at the EU Delegation to New Zealand, based in Wellington. Her section supports the implementation of the EU-NZ FTA as well as other areas of EU-NZ collaboration, including NZ’s association to the Horizon Europe programme.
Marianna Molnar
Marianna is a Policy coordinator for trade relations with New Zealand, in the Directorate General for Trade. She has worked on concluding the negotiations and on the subsequent ratification process of the EU-New Zealand free trade agreement, and now working on ensuring its smooth implementation.
Eric Amaral Garcia
Eric is a Policy officer in Industrial Forum, Alliances, Clusters unit at Directorate General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs.
Michele Chiappini
Michele is an experienced adviser for business services in the Single Market/SME Pillar, Internal Market and Support to Standardisation Unit. Michele joined the Enterprise Europe Network team in 2017 and has over 15 years of experience in support actions for MSMEs.
Damian Kasperczyk
Damian is the Managing Director of Ekoinwentyka Ltd. He is the author of the concept and implemented the technology of the innovative Compact Trickle Bed Bioreactor (CTBB) and has experience in designing, applying and conducting air biopurification processes from VOCs/odors in CTBB reactors.
